NO, I have grown up with it as well, just never came face to face.
Democracy in this part of the world keeps 'unusual' friends.
Lanka goes to poll on 17.11 and if last two elections are any indicator, 18.11 shall bring curfew in Colombo. However, for a generation that has grown up with an ethnic and power struggle, it brings no fear or concern. It's daily life.
Just a day off from work. People are happy.
